St Pauli Vineyard

Single Vineyard Wines | Harvested by hand | Made in the Moutere | Sustainable | Vegan

Our boutique family-owned vineyard is located on 10 hectares in the heart of the Moutere, just five minutes’ walk from the township of Upper Moutere, New Zealand.

The rich and loamy Moutere clay soil, long sunshine hours and temperate season allows the grapes to develop naturally complex flavours with balanced minerality. Vines are tended to by hand and the fruit is hand-picked, pressed and fermented using simple traditional methods. Each vintage is unique, a true expression of work and the provenance of nature.

St Pauli Vineyard Wines celebrate our beautiful region and we hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

We supply direct to wine lovers and to our favourite stores and restaurants - please view our collections below or find a stockist near you.

Thank you, Robyn & Gareth Evans

Chardonnay 2019

This is delightfully fruited and inviting on the nose showing ripe nectarine, rockmelon, fig and vanillin oak characters, leading to a beautifully weighted palate that’s fleshy and creamy. The wine offers lovely harmony and complexity, finishing long and delectable. 4.5 Stars.

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

Sauvignon Blanc 2019

Fresh, youthful, high-energy sauvignon blanc with bright citrus, lime, green apple and oyster-shell flavours. A backbone of assertive acidity helps drive a lengthy palate and promotes a mouth-watering finish. A serious sauvignon. 93/100.

Bob Campbell, The Real Review

Pinot Noir 2019

Made from fruit grown in Upper Moutere the wine is crushed black plum juice in colour, is simply bursting with ripe berry fruit aromas and flavours, it's also a wine with silky tannins, however, it's the beautiful fruit and touch of toasted hazelnuts flavours that shine. Simply delicious!

Meet the Team

Robyn

Hailing from Edinburgh, I grew up in Nelson. My role at St Pauli Vineyard is varied – which is what I love about it. I look after the accounts and UK sales, assist Tess with national sales and generally help where I can. Alongside my vineyard work I continue to practise as a midwife at Nelson Hospital. When time permits, I enjoy the outdoors – running, cycling and being on the water.

Gareth Evans, St Pauli Vineyard

Gareth

Originally from a small seaside town in the South of England I moved to Tasman with Robyn in 2017. I’m responsible for the overall upkeep and production of our vineyard - focusing on longevity of the vines and lightly tending to the canopy. Maintaining rows of healthy vines is incredibly satisfying but it’s a huge relief when the grapes are harvested, and I can relax at the end of the season. When not tending to the vines I play football for Richmond suburbs and enjoy being in the outdoors with my family.

Tess

Earlier this year I came on board with Robyn and Gareth to help with the sales and marketing side at St Pauli Vineyard. It’s really exciting to be working with a growing local business and I look forward to being part of the journey as we continue to develop. When not at St Pauli you’ll most likely find me enjoying Nelson’s fantastic food & wine or exploring somewhere in the outdoors.
